Mobirise

Good Morning,

My name is Michał Polasik, and I am an Associate Professor and Head of the Research Center for Digital Economy and Finance at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. Today I would like to introduce to you and encourage you to participate in one of the projects which I’m leading now - Paytechimpact.EU. It is an independent non-commercial research project funded by the National Science Centre in Poland and conducted in partnership with European Banking Federation, European Payment Institutions Federation, Polish Bank Association and the Belgian Financial Sector Federation - Febelfin.
What is this project about?
The project aims at gaining a better understanding of the changes such as the impact of financial technologies development and legal regulations, mainly PSD2 including open banking and Strong Customer Authentication, on the introduction of innovations in the European payment services market.
As a result of the study we would like to:
- verify banks and Fintechs strategies used towards payment innovations and
- possibilities for banks, FinTechs, and BigTechs collaboration during the innovation process and further implementation on the market.
- We would like to understand if Open API infrastructure is a starting point of payment innovations and
- to provide the benchmark for the existing and predicted future portfolio of payment innovations for the European market.
The study consists of two parts: an Institutional Survey and Experts Survey. On behalf of my team, I invite all of you, representing the institutions and experts in the field of payment services from the European Economic Area to join the study.
As compensation for time spent on completing a questionnaire, all respondents will receive free of charge the main insights from the research in the form of an Executive Summary.
So if you belong to the payment sector, then please share your professional knowledge and have an impact on the future of payments in Europe, join the PayTechImpact.EU study!
You can find more information regarding the participation and survey at the project website www.paytech.umk.pl
We are waiting for your answers.
